Apologise for going first
I met up with a friend from America who had just returned to Japan.
We met up at a counter-only yakitori place.
After giving each other a hug, we went into the shop. My friend then says, "there will be another person joining us soon".
Soon after were had a few drinks, the other person turned up.
Ack.
This is bad.
I am now having drinks with this person, before Okada.
This other person, is none other than A-san, who has acted with Okada a few times. Okada had mentioned before. Although he had exchanged (email) addresses with A-san before, not once has he been invited out for drinks.
And it even became a little joke among us.
Now, here I am, having drinks with A-san first.
I greeted him with an ironic smile, and said "Looks like I get to meet up with you first, ne".
To which he replied, "Drinking with me first prior to Okada, ne".
"Aa, sorry. That's what I meant, ne".
Although our drinking session started with such an awkward opening, after two hours, all is forgotten and we were all in high spirits.
Okada! A-san is a really great guy, ne! Quick, go drinking with him, yo!
